A car fire occurred today on Hwy 515 in Gilmer County. Georgia State Patrol responded to an accident in Cherry Log Georgia earlier today, December 12th, after a motor vehicle accident resulted in a car fire. Georgia State Patrol called the Gilmer County Fire Department to extinguish the flames.
FetchYourNews.com spoke with Fire Chief Tony Pritchett who told us,
“The fire was in the engine compartment and moved into the passenger compartment. We were able to put out the flames quickly after arriving on scene.”
Chief Pritchett told us it is believed the car struck another vehicle in the back end and that was what caused the fire. The vehicle involved was a Mercury. The Georgia State Patrol is conducting the investigation and more information will be available at a later time.
