Eugene Tucker: Obituary

Eugene Tucker, age 79 of Ellijay, Georgia passed on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.A member of New Hope Baptist Church, born Friday, March 15th, 1935 in Ducktown, TN., to his late parents William Posey and Julie Young Tucker. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and Germany. Mr. Tucker was a retired production line operator with Robert Shaw Industries. He is preceded in death by wife Joan Grant Tucker, son Jonathan Eugene Tucker and grandson Johnathon Edward G. Tucker.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Nikki and James Ray of Shattuck, OK., sons and daughter-in-laws Steven Grant and Kaye Tucker of Old Fort, TN., Quinten and Nelly Tucker of Ellijay, GA., Kelly Joseph Tucker of Ellijay, GA., grandchildren Isabella Ray, Chloe Ray, Marissa and Lee Millholland, Damien Cobb, Kathleen Bedsole, Justin Tucker, great grandchildren, Mathew Cobb, Ashlyn Bedsole, Logan Bedsole, Abigale Cox and Mason Tucker.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 19th, 2014 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Wallace Parks and Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Military graveside service will follow in the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with Military Rites performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steven Tucker, Quinton Tucker, Kelly Tucker, Justin Tucker, Lee Millholland, and Jack Davis.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, December 18th, 2014 at Logan Funeral Home.
