Mr. J. L. “Lawrence” Wright: Obituary

Mr. J. L. “Lawrence” Wright, age 97 of the Flat Branch community, Ellijay, Georgia died on Saturday morning, December 20th, 2014, at the Gilmer Nursing Home.Lawrence was born October 9th, 1917 in Ellijay, Georgia to his late parents, Barry Lee and Dollie Grizzle Wright. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, and owned and operated the Starlight Cafe, along with working as a homebuilder. He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Ida Mae Cornett Wright, brother, Leslie Asberry Wright, and son-in-law, Kenneth Allen. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Gilmer Nursing Home and North Georgia Medical Center for the wonderful care that J.L. recieved.

He is survived by his daughter, Betty Sue Allen of Ellijay, GA; Sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Evelyn Wright of Ellijay, GA, Teddy and Lynn Wright and Freddy and Kay Wright, all of Maryville, TN; 10 Grandchildren; 17 Great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 22nd, 2014 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Franklin Harper and Rev. Brad Crump officiating. Music and vocals will be by Martha Harper. Graveside interment will be held in the Flat Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Banks, Robert Lee Wright, Scott Wright, Chad Wright, Casey Wright, David Wright, Kyle Tinnell, and Derek Burnett.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Logan Funeral Home.
