Mr. Bonnie Miller Williams, Jr.: Obituary

Mr. Bonnie Miller Williams, Jr., age 76 of Ellijay, Georgia died on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at his residence in Ellijay.Born February 4, 1938 in Wadley, Georgia to his late parents Bonnie Miller, Sr. and Susie Mae Williams. Mr. Williams was a graduate of Richmond Academy High School Class of 1956 and continued his education at the North Georgia Military College in Dahlonega before transferring and graduating at the University of Georgia. Bonnie worked for 25 years as a comptroller with Plaid Industries.Public service was Bonnie’s passion and he served in several capacities with various community organizations such as:Past Exhaulted Ruler of the Atlanta Northlake #78 Elks, District Deputy of the Georgia Elks, Ellijay Lion’s Club member, Treasurer for the Domestic Violence Taskforce, Vice Chairman of the Kid’s Cottage, Chairman and Board member of BOLA, Chairman of Family Connections, and Board member of the Kid’s Ferst in Ellijay.

He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Beverly Ann Williams of Ellijay, GA, Daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Greg Yarbrough of Dawsonville, GA, Mary and Glenn Yawn of Rincon, GA, Staci and Jeff Waddle of Marietta, GA, son, Michael McCrory of Roswell, GA, grandchildren, Lance Leferre, Emily Bradford, Keiffer Humphrey and Grace Potts, Jack Sydney, and Katherine Waddle, great-grandchildren, Laina, Valin and Logan.

Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00pm on Saturday January 3rd, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Ellijay with Rev. Sharon Watkins officiating. The Elk’s Lodge Atlanta Northlake # 78 will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Elk’s Aidmore at 2394 Morrison Road Conyers, GA 30094, St. Jude’ Children’s Research Hospital at P.O. Box 1000 Dept 142 Memphis, TN 38101 or to the Ronald McDonald House Charities at 26345 Network Place Chicago, IL 60673 in memory of Mr. Williams.
