Mr. Kermit Samuel “Sam” Quinton, age 77, of Crossroads Church Rd, Ellijay, died Friday January 2, 2015. Mr. Quinton was born June 29, 1937 in Pickens County the son of the late Alden and Martha Queen Quinton. He was a graduate of Pickens High School, worked as an equipment salesman, machine operator in the tool and die business. Sam was a member of Blaine Lodge, attended Oak Hill Independent Church where he served as an Elder and member of the Board of Directors. He enjoyed traveling, driving cars for many different automobile dealers and flea marketing. He was preceded in death by parents, sons, Scott and Ralph Barnes, brother, Steve Quinton.
Survivors include: wife: Juanita Clore Quinton, daughter and son in law; Miriam and Adam James, Crosby Texas, grandchildren; Tyler Deaton, Dustin Newton, Samantha Quinton, Madison Deaton, Brittany James, special friends Devan Hedden, Clay McClure. Brother; Jeff Quinton, Blairsville, sisters and brother in law; Kathy and Larry Maxwell, Pensacola, FL, Carolyn Bryant, Jasper, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday January 4,2015 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Pastor Edward Ledford and Rev. Billy Dotson officiating.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.
