Mr. William Trammel Hester “Bill” : Obituary

Mr. William Trammel Hester “Bill” age 81 of Ellijay, GA died Saturday February 14, 2015. After many years of long term health issues.Bill a lifelong resident of Cobb County, retired from the City of Marietta Fire Department. Better known there as “Catfish”, Bill served as Capt. and Training officer. He worked 36 ½ years retiring in 1989. He served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict. Bill was a member of the Shiloh Methodist Church in Kennesaw, GA.

Bill was born August 8, 1933 to the late Myrtle and Quallian Hester. He was the only surviving sibling of 8.

Bill and his family relocated to Gilmer County in 2010. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pat Hester; daughter, Renee Lacy; one grandson, Austin Lacy, all of Ellijay, GA; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday February 19th at 10:30am from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Davis officiating. Interment service will be held at 12:30 from the GA National Cemetery in Canton, GA with Military Rites by the US Army. Pallbearers will be Neal Carver, Jon Carver, Jeremy Sellers, Jerry Barnes, Ronald Watkins and Michael Dyer. Funeral Honors by the City of Marietta Fire Department Honor Guard and all retired and working fireman.

The family will receive friends Wednesday February 18th from 2pm until 4pm and 6pm until 9pm at the funeral home.
