The Gilmer High School Bobcats baseball team made the short trip north to Fannin County to take on the Rebels, despite a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning, and seven strike outs thrown in six inning of work from Garrett Rigdon.The Bobcats faced an early deficit after the Rebels scored on an RBI double in the bottom of the first inning; however, Noah Wilson tied the game with an RBI single that scored Avery Sirmans, in the top of the second.

The score remained the same until the top of the fifth, when Chris James hit a solo home run giving Gilmer a 2-1 lead.

Rigdon left the game finishing the sixth facing only three batters after a lead off fly out preceded two strike outs. The top of the seventh saw Sirmans lead off with a walk, before, McKinley Chadwick moved him to second with a Sac Bunt.

Dalton Stephens hit a single; however, Sirmans scored from third on an error.

Stephens then scored on a passed ball on the next pitch.

The inning with the Bobcats ahead 4-1. Brooks Rosser came on to the mound for the Bobcats. After a leadoff walk, Rosser struck out the next batter threw out the second out of the inning; however, a wild pitch moved the leadoff man to second.

Two consecutive walks loaded the bases, and a two run stand up double cut the lead to one, 4-3. An intentional walk, loaded the bases, but a hit batter tied the game at 4-4 and brought Chadwick to the mound.

The Rebels completed the rally with a walk off RBi single giving Gilmer the 4-5 loss.
