Daily Prayer – March 17

Philippians 1:27-28. “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ…stand firm in one spirit contending as one man for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you.” Lord Jesus, because we bear Your Name and we call ourselves Christians, we want to always reflect to the unbelieving world the authenticity of our faith. You have told us that we are Your workmanship of what You can do with a transformed life. So, whatever happens help us to be worthy of Your Name.

Give us the grit to stand firm in an age of compromise. Help us not to devalue the meaning of Your teachings or to adjust our beliefs to fit the temper of the times. You have told us that in this world we would have tribulation and opposition as we serve You. Grant us wisdom and courage to contend for the faith and to be faithful to our vows to You.

Protect this person who pauses for prayer just now from the onslaught of evil and help this one to stand strong today with whatever happens.

Amen.
