JEB

Opinion by George McClellan:While our eyes are distracted, but gladdened, by Obama’s recent election loss in Israel, the former Governor of Florida, Mr. Jeb Bush, was in Georgia touting his conservative credentials to our Governor, our Lt. Governor and presumedly, the Republicans who we elected to represent us in Georgia’s two chambers of law makers, the Assembly and Senate.

As we have been told, Republican’s are supposed to be against tax hikes, big government, unearned welfare, jobs for illegals and Obamacare, etc. etc & etc. and stand for the rule of law, the Constitution, equal justice, equal rights, personal dignity, personal responsibility, praising American values (not Obama’s version) and bringing government closer to the people. That’s to the people, not on the people. So, how’s that going for us?

Did you know they are actually discussing giving Georgia drivers licenses to illegals. Who’s paying for that? Do you realize what that will do to your drivers license? It would make it worthless in any other state that refused to believe you weren’t an illegal too. The value of an untainted drivers license is that it acts as presumptive, prima facia evidence of your true identity and your legitimacy. Give free licenses to illegals and all that goes. But, I digress. Back to Bush.

As of today’s on-line news sources, Bush, the 3rd, is in serious danger of being completely ignored by the Conservative base who, by their votes in 2014, changed the whole structure of both the US House of Representatives and the US Senate by giving the Republican Party whole ownership of the Congress. It was in effect, a rejection of Obama’s policies creating the Socialist monolith of total top down government control that is now oppressing us.

Comes now Florida’s Mr. Bush, JEB for short, with his “Oh, gosh, yeah, I’m a Conservative” blather, attempting to minimize his already expressed views for open borders, amnesty, and federal control of our children’s education, the very things we changed the Congress in hopes of removing. But, the “moderate Republican” campaign machinery is already in full motion collecting vast amounts of early donations for Bush whilst trying to convince us that Jeb is the best thing that could happen to the Republican Party because he’s, well, he’s a Bush.

JEB fancies himself a Reformed Conservative, as opposed to his brothers fanciful and expensive, as we learned to our regret, compassionate conservative. Just what the heck is a reformed conservative? Is that like being a reformed alcoholic, one who does not really give up consuming adult beverages but just tells everyone he did so he can secretly keep drinking at home?

The problem is JEB still speaks with liberal compassion about his conservative values: “I’ve got a record I can run on that shows how conservative principles applied the right way give everybody a chance to be successful,” “I’ve got a record to run on. I’m not embarrassed about it, and I’m not going to change who I am. That’s a loser, too.” Well, he might but that’s old news.

Maria Zack, Sen. Ted Cruz Super PAC controller said: “If we keep doing the same thing over and over again in getting a moderate Republican, we cannot win.” As a final point, Jeb thinks it’s okay for Georgia to open the door to cannabis as a medical norm for Georgia, but not for his own state, Florida. Go home Jeb and please, stay there. Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em! (20 March 2015)
