Mr. Allen Clark: Obituary

Mr. Allen Clark age 69 of Ellijay, GA died Sunday March 22, 2015. He went to be with The Lord on his wife and his granddaughter Jensen Cheshire’s Birthday. Mr. Clark was born March 7, 1946 in Pickens County to the late Al and Margaret Davis Clark. He was in the US Navy and served his country. He was assigned to the Engine Room on the U.S.S Manley (DD-940) he learned very quick how to light-off and secure every piece of equipment in that space and run the engine room. He proved his self to be one of the top men there. He made a lot of deployments, including two trips to Vietnam and spent many months on the gun line protecting our Marines and Army with gun fire. He earned a Vietnam service metal with one bronze star. Mr. Clark is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors Include: wife, Carol Baxter Clark, Ellijay, GA; daughter and son in-law, Angie and Shawn Cheshire, Milton, GA; brother and sister in-law, Larry and Kathleen Clark; grandchildren, Ansley and Jensen Cheshire; niece and nephew, Cameron and Katy Clark, Lindsey and Taylor Beville.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday March 25th at 11am from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Stover officiating. Interment will be in the Georgia National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday March 24th form 4pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
