Lap-Sit Storytime – Spring is Springing

Lap-Sit story time is a fun and personalized way to encourage early literacy by including books, songs, rhymes, and physical activity for ages 1 to 3 years with a participating adult.

Are you interested in learning the basics of understanding and writing code in Blocky, Python, and others? Stop in and check out the fun. We are using www.code.org tutorials because we’re learning too.

Georgia Geology

Join us for our monthly adult program sponsored by The Gilmer County Friends of the Library. This month, Gilbert “Rockman” Treadwell will be presenting an informative program about the metamorphic rocks under our feet here in the Southern Appalachians, South Georgia deposits, and Northwest Georgia’s Paleozoic rocks. There will be many samples of the different rocks to examine and Rockman will be bringing a geological map of Georgia.
Beginner Excel

Learn the basics of using Microsoft Excel. We will cover things such as: what you can do with Excel, how to create a file, and modify data to suit your needs. Registration is recommended.
Lunch and Learn Knitting & Crocheting
Wednesday, April 1 @ 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! If you are unable to attend a meeting, that’s ok. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color.
The Friends of the Library Bookshelf
Come into the Bookshelf to see a new group of books on religion and spirituality – we have something to inspire every reader.
If you’re not already a Friend of the Library please join us next time you come into the Bookshelf. Memberships start at only $10.00 and contribute to buying new books (including E-books) for the library’s collection. You’ll enjoy the monthly newsletter, special events, and will be the first to know about the collections we put out each week.
Bookshelf hours are from 10:30 AM-5:00 PM on weekdays and from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM on Saturdays.
