Psalm 20:1 “May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.”
O God of Help, you are with us all the time. Especially when we are in distress we call on your aid and you hear us. You answer by sending someone to help us or you show us how to solve the problem. When we need protection from evil or danger you give us your guardian care. Just to speak the name of Jesus in the face of evil gives great protection from Satan’s darts.
Such great help comes to us when we join others in worship in your house. Through fellowship with them we are encouraged. When we sing the great songs of the faith we are stirred in the depths of our souls. We hear your word proclaimed and Christ is exalted and we are drawn to you – the source of our help.
Give this person who pauses for strength before you now the joy of worship in Church on the Lord’s Day.
