Daily Prayer: 04/05

Luke 7:18-19. “John’s disciples told him about all these things. Calling two of them, he sent them to the Lord to ask, “Are You the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?”Lord Jesus, You want us to know for sure that there is no other Savior but You. We can sympathize with John the Baptist who was in prison for preaching that You were the prophesied one. The reports given him about what You were doing did not make sense to him. He thought of You as confronting the oppressive government and You went about touching individuals with grace.

Sometimes You do not meet our expectations either. We have our minds set on one thing and You do another. Life does not turn out like we thought it would. We feel that it was not supposed to be this way. But Your divine touch always brings us back to reality and we claim Your loving grace for ourselves.

Bless those whose lives have caused them to think “it is not supposed to be this way” to find help in making life all it can be. Thank you Lord for loving us.

Amen.
