Request for Help, An Open Letter From Sandy Lyons
Community April 6, 2015
Patriots and Friends of the Gilmer County Veterans Memorial Bridge and Gardens are requested to consider making donations to help pay off a large loan. This account was initially set up to receive donations and fund raisers to build the bridge and associated activity. It was a type 501-c 3 and funds were deposited in it with the control and awareness of the Ellijay Lions Club. Everything was done to maintain accurate and complete records. After the Ellijay Lions Club decided to close the “Help Build the Bridge” Charity Account. Sandy Lyons had to convert two large credit cards to a loan at the C & S Community Bank in his name, The resulting new loan dated about November 2012 and was for $40,000.00 made to pay off the existing two credit card balances. This loan was made against my property and it now has an outstand balance of $17,000.00. I am paying $1000.00 on this loan each month to hopefully reduce it to zero before too long.
Please help me to reduce this debt and I will be ever so thankful for any and all donations received. Thank you.
Yours in service,
Sandy Lyons
