Lap-Sit Storytime – All Around the Pond

Lap-Sit story time is a fun and personalized way to encourage early literacy by including books, songs, rhymes, and physical activity for ages 1 to 3 years with a participating adult.

Weekday Storytime – A Tiny Seed

Come and listen to Mrs. Judy as she tells the story of A Tiny Seed. Right after the story, we always have craft time. All ages are welcome. Children under 9 require a responsible adult.

Joseph Gudger, a Level 5 ACA Kayaking Instructor as well as an avid outdoorsman, shares some of his knowledge and experiences. In his own words, “the river had desire to flow and I could do the same.” Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Gilmer County Library.

Please join the FOGCL for their Annual Meeting. Current events, annual membership drive, and the installation of new officers will be discussed. Light refreshments will be served.

Lunch and Learn Knitting & Crocheting
Wednesday, April 29 @ 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! If you are unable to attend a meeting, that’s ok. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color.

Videography Workshop
Thursday, April 30 @ 5:30 PM
Gilmer High School teacher John Cribb will talk about the finer points of capturing audio and video. He will also demonstrate ways to edit the A/V content to make it presentable for any project.

The Friends of the Library Bookshelf

Spring is a great time to spruce up, spiff up your home and this week the Bookshelf is featuring a wonderful collection of books to inspire and help you. Whether you want to decorate, paint, craft or just clean you’ll find something in this group of well-priced books.
If you’re not already a Friend of the Library please join us next time you come into the Bookshelf. Memberships start at only $10.00 and contribute to buying new books (including E-books) for the library’s collection. You’ll enjoy the monthly newsletter, special events, and will be the first to know about the collections we put out each week.
Bookshelf hours are from 10:30-5:00 on weekdays and from noon-2:00 on Saturdays
