Mr. William “Bill” Brinkmann age 79 of Ellijay, GA died Tuesday May 5, 2015. Bill was born July 31, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY son of the late, William Johannes Karl and Henny Michaelis Brinkmann. He graduated from Richmond Hill High School, Queens, NY and attended Columbia University pursuing a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. On December 7, 1954 he enlisted in the United States Army where after Basic Training at Fort Dix, NJ and Armored Training at Fort Knox, KY he was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA serving as Company Clerk with the 2nd Infantry, 72 Tank Division with the rank of Corporal until he was Honorably Discharged. Newly released from the Armed Services Bill enrolled as a Freshman at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY graduating with a BA in Accounting. He worked for Shell Oil Company for 32 years, starting as a staff accountant and working his way up through management until retiring from his position as Director of East Coast Distribution. Bill was a 32nd Mason-Scottish Rite and a lifetime member of United Brethren Lodge Marlborough, MA.

Survivors Include: his loving wife of 38 years, Nancy Brinkmann, of Ellijay, GA; sons, William L. Brinkmann, of Sterling, MA, Richard M. Brinkmann, of Shrewsbury and Jeffrey Bailey, of Worcester, MA; daughters, Cheryl Bailey, of Gainesville, FL and Robin Beauregard, of Clinton, MA; brother, Albert “Butch” Brinkmann, of New Jersey; sister, Evelyn Hack, of Long Island, NY; grandchildren, Matthew Brinkmann, Jeremy Brinkmann, Rachel Jernigan and Sarah Beauregard; great grandchild, Emily Hawkins; loving pet, Sally; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services are being planned and we will be announced at a later date.
