Ann Bishop Kennedy, age 97 of Ellijay, Georgia, previously of Bellefontaine, OH., passed on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at North Georgia Medical Center in Ellijay, Georgia.She was born Saturday, June 16, 1917 to her late parents Charles and Louise Bishop in Bellefontaine, Ohio. Mrs. Kennedy was a graduate, class of 1935, of Bellefontaine High School. Mrs. Kennedy worked as a telephone operator for 36 1/2 years with the United Telephone Company in Bellefontaine (later becoming Sprint). She traveled extensively after retirement, and particularly enjoyed telling the story of her trip to China and the Great Wall of China. In Bellefontaine she was active at the First United Presbyterian Church, worked with the blood bank, and enjoyed the Senior Center. For the last 10 years, Ann has lived in Georgia near her niece, most recently at Cameron Hall in Ellijay, GA. She is preceded in death by husband Ora Knight Kennedy; mother and father Louise and Charles Bishop; sister Coreda (Reda ) Yates; brothers-in-law Joseph Yates, George Kennedy and his wife Elizabeth Kennedy.

Survivors include niece Claire Ritzler of Ellijay, Ga.; nephew Richard (& Susan) Kennedy of LaRue, OH.; cousin Carol (& Junior) Jones of Bellefontaine, OH.; five great nieces and nephews, eleven great-great nieces and nephews and one great-great-great nephew also survive.

A Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 21st, 2015 at Eicholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home located at 321 Main Street Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Interment will follow in Garden of Gethsemane, in Memory Gardens, Bellefontaine, OH.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, May 18th, 2015, at Logan Funeral Home, 357 Dalton Street, Ellijay, Georgia. There will also be a visitation from 1:00 until 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 21st at Eicholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, prior to the Funeral service. Memorial contributions may be sent to the First United Presbyterian Church of Bellefontaine 117 North Main St Bellefontaine, OH 43311, in memory of Agnes Kennedy.
