Mr. William “Bobby” Lynch of Ellijay, Georgia passed away peacefully on May 18, 2015. He was originally born in Atlanta, Georgia raised in Smyrna, GA and resided in Ellijay, GA since 1995. Bobby was a 1957 graduate of Campbell High School. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force, and later joined the Air National Guard. After approximately 25 years of military service he retired to public service. During the remainder of his career he held positions with Dobbins Air Force Base, State of GA Minimum Standard and Training, Captain of the Fort Lauderdale Airport Fire Dept., and finished his career with 20 years of service as Chief of Training for Lockheed Martin Fire Dept., Marietta, GA. Bobby was a member of First Baptist Church of Ellijay, GA where he also served as a deacon.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Tollie C. Lynch and Willie M. Lynch, as well as two brothers, Travis Lynch and Harold Lynch.
He is survived by his wife Louise E. Truitt Lynch, Four Children: Teresa G. Nelson and husband Jimmy, Charles Michael Lynch, Patricia A. Barnett and husband Chris and Julie E. Litton and husband David. Eleven grandchildren, Five Great-grandchildren, One brother; Gil Lynch of Smyrna, GA. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 PM Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna (770)435-4467. Interment will be in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
