Daily Prayer: 05/29

Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”

O God, Most Holy, when we do actually get a taste of the spiritual life we want more. Like a starving person craves for food we hunger for deeper knowledge of you. As a thirsty person seeks water we thirst for your presence. Our desire is for Christ to live in us so that we will reflect him to others.

The world thinks that happiness comes through doing one’s own thing even if it is unrighteous in your sight. We know that happiness comes through doing the right thing at the right time.

You do not just give some of that for which we hunger and thirst. You fill us to our capacity and when our ability to receive your blessings is greater you keep filling us. Thanks for your unlimited grace in Jesus.

Amen.
