Mrs. Mary Alice Ray: Obituary

Mrs. Mary Alice Ray age 96 of Ellijay, GA died Tuesday June 2, 2015. Mrs. Ray was born January 9, 1919 in Gilmer County, daughter of the late, James Clifford and Lula Lawson Smith. She worked for Dundee Mills and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay where she worked in Children’s Department for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Waldon Ray, November 25, 2006.

Survivors Include: daughters and sons in-law, Carol and Tommy Washam, of Ellijay, GA, Kathy and Tony Adams, of Canton, GA and Donna Bunch, of Ellijay, GA; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday June 4th at 2pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Northcutt Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday June 4th from 11am until 2pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First Baptist Building Fund at 164 Dalton Street Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Mrs. Ray.

The family request no food be brought to the funeral home.
