Mr. Robert Melvin Johnson, age 67 of the Coosawattee community, Ellijay, Georgia passed on Thursday evening, June 11, 2015.
Mr. Johnson was born July 5, 1947 in Libertyville, Illinois to his late parents John Melvin and Alice Emily Nobis Johnson. He was a member of the United Protestant Church in Grayslake, IL. Robert graduated from Grayslake Illinois High School, served honorably in the US Army during Vietnam and worked as a technical writer for Komatsu Industries. He is preceded in death by his wife, Susan May Johnson.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Morales of Fort Worth, TX; Sons, William Johnson of Kenosha, WI, J.V. Calbertson of Cave Junction, OR and Kevin Lewis of Atlanta, GA; Ten grandchildren; Six Great grandchildren; Brothers, Dr. Tom Johnson and Bill Johnson, both of Lexington, KY and Len Johnson of Des Plaines, IL also survives.
A military graveside memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 14th, 2015 at the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with Col. George Pletcher officiating. Military graveside rites will be performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to the North Georgia Honor Guard at P.O. Box 473 Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
