Matthew 6:11 “Give us today our daily bread.”

Our Father, we are totally dependent on you for the very breath we breathe. Our times are in your hands for you hold our destiny unto yourself. Thank you for providing the food we eat and the water we drink to sustain our lives. You provide what is necessary for each day.

Far more important than that which can sustain physical life is the daily bread that can empower spiritual life. We bow before him who said, “I am the Bread of Life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.” How blessed we are to have from your hand all that is needed for us to thrive in both the physical and spiritual realms.

We pray as did the hymn writer, “Break Thou the bread of life, dear Lord to me…my spirit pants for thee, O living word.”
