Ellijay City Council Approves Appointments

A very short meeting saw to quick action for the Ellijay City Council on Monday, July 20.

Early in the meeting, the build-up of debris under the bridge on McCutchen Street just past the Primary School was brought before the council, to which Mayor Al Hoyle responded he would look into the situation.

The council took the opportunity of the meeting to ratify the Joint Development Authority’s appointment of Penelope Marshall as it’s seventh member, and to approve the rezoning request of 996 Dalton Street from Office Restrictive Commercial to Residential.

The final action of the meeting saw the appointment of Ed Grant and Mark Queen to the Historic Preservation Commission Board.
