Yelonda Banks: Obituary

Mrs Yelonda Jean Clayton Banks, age 59 of Ellijay, Georgia passed from this life on Saturday, August 15, 2015. She was a member of Tails Creek Baptist Church. Yelonda was born Wednesday, July 11, 1956 in Greenwood, Indiana to her late parents Floyd and Carolyn Bramlett Clayton. She was a graduate of Southport High School and was employed as a Nutrition Manager with the Gilmer County Board of Education. Yelonda was a loving wife, mother and nana. She is preceded in death by brother Ray Clayton, Father-in-law Bert Banks, Sr., and grandparents L.M. & Evon Bramlett, and Casey and Bessie Clayton. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to Tails Creek Baptist Church, c/o Tracey Abercrombie, 40 Fox Trail Ct., Talking Rock, GA. 30175, in memory of Mrs. Banks.

Survivors include husband of 43 years, B.G. Banks of the home in Ellijay, daughter and son-in-law Adrianne & Darien Bowen of Ellijay; sons and daughter-in-law Brett Banks of Ellijay, Bart & K.C. Banks of Ellijay; grandchildren Skyler, Autumn & Kaley Banks, Bryce Bowen, Brooklyn Bowen and Benjamin Banks; mother-in-law Winnie Bell Sanford Banks of Ellijay; brothers Randy Clayton of Fayetteville, Roger Clayton of Whitesburg, GA.; brother and sister-in-law Reagen and Deloris Clayton of Roopville, GA.;Aunts and Uncles Judy and Jim Quarles of Ellijay, Ernie and Frankie Bramlett of Douglasville, GA.

A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday August 19th, 2015 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Jones. Rev. Earl Abernathy, Rev. Billy Dotson and Rev. Jerry Banks officiating. Music and vocals by Adrianne Bowen, Bart Banks and grandchildren. Interment will follow in the Banks Family Cemetery,
