Ms. Catherine Waters age 70, died Wednesday August 5, 2015 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta after a brief illness.
Ms. Waters was born May 11, 1945 in Gilmer County, daughter of the late Charles E. (Dink) and Emma Lee Jordan Waters. She was a Gilmer High School Graduate, Class of 1963 and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Tifton College in 1966. After several years of teaching in Dekalb County she became a financial planner for Waddell and Read of Atlanta. Catherine loved to travel; visiting Europe several times and spending a month in Costa Rica with friends. Also she was a breast cancer survivor and recently moved to Atlanta, GA from The Villages in Florida.
Survivors Include: brother and sister in-law, Charles J. and Janice Waters; nephew, Charles Edward Waters; niece, Laura Waters and her husband Jim Tracey; great nieces, Mya and Ashley Waters; great nephew, Max Tracey Waters.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday September 12th at 2pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. James Holt officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday September 12th from 1pm until the service hour at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to a charity of choice In Memory of Ms. Catherine Waters.
