Jasper Paul Davis: Obituary

Jasper Paul Davis age 98 of Crandall, Georgia, formerly of Ellijay, passed from this life on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at his residence. He was a member of Fairy Valley Baptist Church in Crandall, GA. Mr. Davis was an ordained minister and pastored several churches in the North Georgia area. He was born March 27, 1917 in Ellijay, Gilmer County Georgia, to his late parents Wilce and Alice Smith Davis. He was employed with Galaxy Carpet before retiring. Mr. Davis is preceded in death by wives Nina Mae Davis and Edna Davis, children Bobby Davis and Gwendale Davis and 12 siblings.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law James Clyde & Barbara Davis of Jasper, J.P. & Jackie Davis of Jasper, Elijah & Eva Davis of Ellijay, GA and Douglas Davis of Ellijay, GA.; step children and in-laws Peggy & Lonnie Dunn of Chatsworth, Helen & Richard Strickland of Stone Mountain, GA., Junior & Karen Davenport of Chatsworth, GA., Thomas Kendrick of Crandall, GA; 18 grandchildren and numerous great – grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 15th, 2015 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Scott and Rev. Franklin Harper officiating. Music and singing will be by Martha Harper, Barry Abernathy and Manuel Holt. Graveside service will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bradley Davenport, Bryan Davenport, Anthony Davis, Joshua Davis, Mitchell Davis and Brandon Davis.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, September 14, 2015, at the Logan Funeral Home, The family requests that no food be brought to the funeral home.
