Wither JEB?

The essence of that comment reveals that Jeb Bush and his advisory team of the once elite political establishment who have spent their lucrative careers groveling at democrats feet for recognition and political handouts, really believe that Jeb is entitled to the job of President of the United States. Wow! Talk about hutzpah! So, they’re going after Rubio in a big way.

In Jeb they have a milquetoast candidate who, after a life time of compassionate conservative conditioning, just can’t pull it off. It’s painful sometimes to watch him speak to a crowd, especially these day’s when the political sands are shifting beneath his feet. Naturally, in his TV ads, the crowd are pre-selected friendly folks but when he speaks, they are unresponsive and just sit there. We see no concurrence of position between Jeb and his supposedly friendly audience. Of course, when he speaks he is following a predetermined script from which we can glean nothing except to notice, if we are so experienced, his non verbal, unintentional body language.

Jeb speaks in ‘polititalk’ (they all do except Trump) using soft words designed to placate rather than inform, obfuscate rather than illuminate. When Jeb speaks he cast’s his eyes down to the floor then, like a street beggar looking for alms, lifts his head up and to the left, to avoid making eye contact, hoping God will help him, then down again as if to communicate that he doesn’t actually believe his own words. Some may intemperate this as first, ending a question then ending his thought. Possibly, but other involuntary movements are there to be read by those who know how.

To me, Jeb’s presentations comes off as whining or begging the voters to understand him. It’s all subliminal. We see it, and he can’t control it. One gets the impression he isn’t having fun and doesn’t want to be there anymore, like the man in the iron mask, especially as he no longer controls his message, His teams over reaction to Marco Rubio’s campaign hasn’t helped and he has run out of ideas. He might in fact destroy Rubio but, Rubio is the wrong target. There sit’s Ted Cruz, lurking quietly waiting in the shadows! Attacks on Rubio are just spiteful.

To be fair to Jeb, as trusting conservative voters, we too have long been conditioned to believe those soft words in the naive belief that our elected politicians were actually conducting business in our best interest and in accordance to the rule of law and the US Constitution.

Clearly, we were wrong. The political elites, Democrats and Republicans alike, after their re-elections based on promises they did not intend to keep, have gone merrily on their way enriching themselves and their friends by wasting tax payer money on literally thousands of useless projects they have no business being in ($43 billion gas stations in Afghanistan, Bridge to nowhere) et. al., and bending to the Progressive programs of socialist entitlements that, if it continues, will introduce to us the total dystopian society that Obama has been creating.

That is the essence of corruption. This is not what we want and this is not what we want our elected representatives to do. Some are getting the message. Others are ignoring it at their peril. Trump was the blast that started the earthquake. He has invigorated the conservative base and all others, who still clinging to their beliefs, must now plot a course around the minefield that Trump has sowed. Jeb has absolutely no charisma! He cannot last!
