Mrs. Jeanine S. Eason, age 75, of Ellijay, GA died peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of November 29, 2015 after a battle with cancer.
Mrs. Eason was born February 1, 1940, in Yuma, Colorado, the daughter of the late Emory Gilmore and Martha Margaret Soltwich Strickland. She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Ashley Wood Eason, Jr., and is survived by close friends and caregivers, Bill and Monica Logan and their family, as well as a plethora of nieces and nephews, including Joanie Fischer and Peggy Meis of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Glen Strickland of Denver, Colorado, and Dianne Burrows of Tucker, Georgia. Mrs. Eason was also blessed with many close friends.
Known as “Aunt Jeannie,” or “Jeannie,” she was a homemaker, a beloved aunt, great aunt, great-grand aunt, and devoted friend. She volunteered tirelessly for her church and within the community.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at the Ellijay First United Methodist Church with Dr. Tom Shores and the Rev. Christian Burton officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and the service will begin at 11:00 a.m. A private internment will take place at 4:00 p.m. at the Social Circle City Cemetery in Social Circle, Georgia.
