Mr. Johnny Kowitz
Mr. Kowitz was born June 5, 1942 in Gilmer County to the late Fred and Pearl Evans Kowitz. He was salesman in the clothing department for Ace Hardware and a member of the Pleasant Gap Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lois Kyle.
Survivors Include: his wife, Elsie Abercrombie Kowitz, of Ellijay, GA; daughters and sons in-law, Cheryl Clayton and Steve Dalrymple, of Ellijay, GA, Tammy and Bobby Defoor, of Ellijay, GA; brother and sister in-law, Billy and Connie Kowitz, of Woodstock, GA; sisters and brother in-law, Jewell Green, Ellijay, GA, Betty and Clifford Elliot, of Ellijay, GA; brother in-law, Jack Kyle, of Woodstock, GA; 4 grandchildren, Joseph Clayton, Mallory Clayton, Isaac Defoor and Noah Defoor.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday February 16th at 2pm from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Banks, Rev. Chris Chastain and Rev. Roger Burgess officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday February 14th from 5pm until 9pm and Monday February 15th until 9pm at the funeral home.
