Press Release from the GCSO; Deputies Assist Woodstock Police Department

Deputies of the Gilmer Sheriff’s Office assisted the Woodstock Police Department on February 29, 2016 in the execution of a search warrant. The search warrant was executed at a residence in the Boardtown Rd. area of Gilmer County. The search warrant was executed pursuant to an investigation conducted by the Woodstock Police Dept. in which a Gilmer County man, Jerry Lee Ledford, was arrested for multiple charges related to “enticing a child for indecent purposes.”

Detectives with the Woodstock Police Department requested the assistance of Gilmer Sheriff’s Deputies in the execution of the warrant at Ledford’s residence. Ledford’s charges include: criminal attempt to commit child molestation, criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, criminal attempt to commit aggravated sodomy and sexual exploitation of a child.
