Mr. Hassell McClure, age 89, of Ellijay, died Friday, June 3,2016.
Mr. McClure was born October 25, 1926 in Gilmer County the son of the late John Arvil and Eunie Weaver McClure. He retired from Lochkeed in 1983, served in the US. Army in WWII and was a member of the Mt Pleasant (Top of the Mountain) Church.
Survivors include: wife of 67 years Bernice Clayton McClure, daughter and son–in-law: Vicki and Hoyle Lowman, Ellijay, brothers; Randall and Benny McClure, both of Blue Ridge, Johnny McClure, Ellijay, Bobby McClure, Jasper, sisters; Betty Davenport, Barbara Watkins both of Cherrylog. 3 grandchildren, Amy and Randy Mooney, Anthony and Jerita Lowman, Amanda and Kevin Jones, 8 great-grandchildren; Nate, Andrew, Kayla, Silas Mooney, Leah and Issac Jones, Briley and Blake Lowman.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Sanford Fountain and Rev. Bobby Baker officiating. Interment will be in the Tickanetley Primitive Baptist Church cemetery with graveside rites by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends Sunday June 5th from 1pm until 9pm at the funeral home.
