Mr. Lindsey Grier Ivey: Obituary

Mr. Lindsey Grier Ivey age 77 of Ellijay died Monday June 6, 2016.

He was born October 29, 1938 to the late William Grier and Rose Mary Ivey. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Troy Ivey.

He was a graduate of Mary Persons High School in Forsyth and served his county honorably in the U.S. Army as a security agent, he later worked as a rural mail carrier in Forsyth and Macon, Ga and later retired from Walmart in Port Orange, FL.

He was previously a member of the Rocky Creek Baptist church in Forsyth, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer. Presently, he is a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors include: wife; Charlene Mason Ivey, daughters and son-in-law’s ; Sherry Folsom, Nashville, TN, Cindy and Greg Nease, Sharpsburg, Ga., Kathy and Vic Campos, Decatur, step-daughter: Christie Paresi, Ellijay. grandchildren; Hayden Coleman, Sara Nease, Gregory Nease, Heather Nease, Dylan Campos, step-grandchildren ,Nick Smith, Cody Carter, Maria Panesi, brother and sister-in-law: Robert,’Bobby’ and Stephanie Ivey, Forsyth, sister and brother-in-law; Roseann and Richard Fiest, Waynesboro, Ga.

Memorial services will be held Saturday June 11, 2016 at 11:00am from the Grace Baptist Church with Dr. Jeffery Walls officiating. Music will be by Fred Fontune and Teresa West. Interment will be in the Yukon cemetery with military rites by the U.S. Army.
