Mr. Andrew L. (Andy) Walter: Obituary

Mr. Andrew L. (Andy) Walter, age 70 of Ellijay died Saturday May 28, 2016.

Mr. Walter was born June 3, 1945 in Tangier, VA the son of the late William Reese and Velma Pruitt Walter. He worked in the medical finance field and at the time of his death he was employed by the Gilmer County Board of Education as a bus driver. Andy attended college, proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of First Baptist Church Ellijay.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Hunter Walter, daughters and son–in-law; Shannon and Douglas Harman, Canton, Marilee Walter, Marietta, brother; Terry Walter, Salisbury, Maryland, step-brother; Ralph Parks, Jr., Kent, Maryland, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; David and Pamela Hunter, Point Clear, Al, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday July 16,2016 at 11:00am from the First Baptist Church, Ellijay with Brother Dwight Webster officiating. Military honors will be by the US Navy.

The family will meet with friends from 10:00am until 11:00am at the church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army in memory of Mr. Walter.
