Mrs. Aimee Southerland Parks: Obituary

Mrs. Aimee Southerland Parks, age 100, of Ellijay, died Wednesday July 20, 2016.

Mrs. Parks was born July 8, 1916, in Pickens County, the daughter of the late Columbus Jasper and Alice Carroll Southerland. She was a homemaker and member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Her Husband, Henry J. Parks, Sr., sons, Buster and Ray Parks, sisters, Charlsie Lewis, Willie Fay Jones, Jewell Sanders, Magie Gable, Gladys Young, brothers, Grady, C.J., Preston and Homer Southerland preceded her in death.

Survivors include; sons and daughters-in-law; Ed and Linda Parks, Rev. Wallace and Carole Parks, Johnny and Debbie Parks all of Ellijay, Jim and Susan Parks, Jasper, Billy and Jennifer Parks, Rome, daughters and sons-in-laws, Sue and Robert Walker, Peggy Mullins all of Jasper, Brenda and Ted Pylant, Jonesboro, brother, Columbus Junior Southerland, FL and sister, Odeen Padgett, Canton, 25 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Burgess and Rev. Brondy Davis officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Thursday from 4pm until 9pm at the funeral home. The family also request no food be brought to the funeral home.
