Post Election, Four Day’s

Opinion written by George McClellan:

Politics is a nasty business. Four days after After Trumps decisive victory we are already reading conservative political sites warning us of the nasty surprises we will see, and worse, experience, coming down the road to meet us under a Trump presidency.

That Trump is indeed our president-elect is because America’s declining status under Obama, as a great world power, a beacon of freedom and a place of refuge where freedom seeking peoples could come and be accepted, has been purposefully changed by political forces that disdain our Constitution, made their own laws, rules and regulations to substitute, and so alarmed the American people to the point that Obama’s anointed successor, Hillary Rodham Clinton, could no longer be stomached by even the remote prospect that her election would be good for America. instead, it would be an affirmation of all our worst fears.

That Trump defeated sixteen other “Conservative” GOP candidates confirms his position as a populist. Many of the other sixteen, good men and women all, in the days of the campaign and after, sought to “dump Trump” by any means possible and so, have removed themselves from any further consideration for high elected political office as Conservatives. In other words, some were sore losers. Other comparisons here, however, are inevitable.

Hitler is America’s bogyman. He too was a populist who convinced the suffering people of a war torn Germany that he could restore their greatness. There, any comparison with Trump ends. Hitler was a poor student, a failed artist and a wounded soldier of the German army of WWI. He did indeed, on the strength of his rhetoric and community organizing skills alone, create shovel ready jobs, employment for all, a vast autobahn network and an industrial-military complex that scared the hell out of the rest of the world. Then he set about destroying it.

Trump was born wealthy and parlayed a small stipend provided by his father into a multibillion real estate empire that provided jobs to people from all walks of like, all skill levels, and certainly all races, creeds and colors. Trump did not operate death camps, he opened hotels and casinos. Some failed. That’s business, but he moved on and built more. Like many men, and women of his era, he enjoyed the freedom and perks of his abilities but did not deny others their chance to enjoy them too. He is a successful man, and he had an inkling of where America was headed under the Democrats and he didn’t like it. Trump is a populist!

Apparently in 2011, Obama triggered something in Trump’s mind that warned him that America was in extreme danger. Obama, a man he had never met, attacked him personally at a state function of some sort or another and convinced The Donald that America was in trouble and needed someone to step up and stop the progressive nonsense that was eating up America.

The results of Trumps steel determination to address the Obama problem was realized on 8 November. It too has scared the hell out of many, especially the swamp dwellers of the GOP whose careers over the past decades has been to feast out of the public trough of tax payers stolen money. Watch them scramble as they try to find a place at Trump’s table now.

A question asked by Red State was: “Can conservative groups still have influence in a Trump administration? A great question. I think so! I have far more faith in the base voters today than I did on Nov 7th. People were alarmed, more active politically and will stay so, for awhile, until the visible dangers pass and we let our guard down again. It’s inevitable, isn’t it? Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em! (13 Nov 2016)
