Mrs. Alyssa Margaretta Cornn: Obituary

Mrs. Alyssa Margaretta Cornn, age 46 of Ellijay, Georgia passed on Saturday, November 26th, 2016, at the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. Born June 10, 1970 in Rome, Georgia to her parents Emett Heath and Sandra Hicks Bryant. Alyssa graduated Wheeler High School in Cobb county. Then continued her education at the Liberty University where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and was working toward her Master’s degree. She worked for Highland Rivers in Ellijay as a Social Worker/Patient Care advocate and was working an internship at the Anna Crawford Children’s Center in Woodstock, GA. Alyssa was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay where she served as a Sunday school teacher and a GA leader.

Alyssa is survived by her husband of 23 years, David Cornn, Jr. of Ellijay, GA, son and fiance, Nathan Cornn and Amye Jeans of Ellijay, GA, mother, Sandra Bryant of Marietta, GA, father, Emett Heath of White, GA, sisters, Claudia Maybern of Pine Log, GA, Merewyn Heath of Tampa, FL., father-in law, David Cornn,Sr. of California, mother-in-law, Amelia Cornn of Woodstock, GA, sisters-in-law, Candice Carden-Chambers of Woodstock, GA, Amy Robertson of Woodstock, GA, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Jessica Cornn of California. Several nieces,nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday December 3rd, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Ellijay with Rev. Mike Hayden officiating. Music and singing will be by Rev. Scott Eaton, Diana, Deborah and Melody Mullen. Graveside interment will follow in the Ellijay City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, December 2, 2016, at the Logan Funeral Home. Flowers are being accepted or donations may be sent to The Marfan Foundation at marfan.org in memory of Alyssa.
