Mr. Charles A. Perkins, Jr. : Obituary

Mr. Charles A. Perkins, Jr., age 92, of Ellijay, died Friday December 9, 2016.

Mr. Perkins was born September 10.1924, in Pike County Ga the son of the late Charles and Bertha Harris Perkins. He was retired from General Motors, Lakewood Plant and was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army. His parents and brothers, Douglas, Harris, Olen Perkins, Hazel Whitted, and Marie Buffington preceded him in death.

Survivors include: wife, Geneva Mooney Perkins, sons; Tony, Jerry, and Larry Perkins all of Griffin, Frankie Taylor, Griffin, daughters; Shelia Ogletree and Lynn Ellis both of Griffin. Sister; Carrie Lou Johnson, Milner, 8 grandchildren; Chris and Crystal Taylor, Carmen and Alex Forrester, Chad and Carol Taylor, Jason and Maria McKoy, Casey and Sam Houston, Clint and Carmel McKoy, Drew Ellis and Marcus Ogletree, 15 great-grandchildren, special sister-in-law Ernestine Mooney  and caregiver Lynn Edwards.,  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday December 12,2016 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Cantrell and Rev. Raymond Mooney officiating. Interment will be in the Tickanetley Primitive Baptist Church cemetery with military honors by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

The family will meet with friends Sunday from 3:00 until 6pm at the funeral home.
