Mrs. Edna Mooney Vickers: Obituary

Mrs. Edna Mooney Vickers, age 78 of Ellijay, died Saturday January 28, 2017.

She was born in Gilmer County to the late Elder T.C. Mooney and Ollie Weaver Mooney on October 20, 1938.

Mrs. Vickers retired from teaching English at Oakway and West-Oak High Schools in Oconee County, South Carolina where she was loved by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her Husband; Henry Vickers, Son; Andrew Vickers and Siblings; Leonard Mooney, Elder Lawrence Mooney, Rebie Bullock, Senie Weaver, Lillie Ellis, Opal Easley and Luther Mooney.

Survivors include Son: Elder Ed Vickers of Lawrenceville, GA , Daughters: Cheryl Murphy of Walhalla, SC, Angie Lawless of Bradenton, FL and Mary Vickers of Atlanta, GA, Sisters: Clara Wheeler of Ellijay, GA and Hazel Smith of Chatsworth, GA, Grandchildren: Dawn Holland, Erin Lawless, Nick Lawless, Ben Murphy and Zeke Vickers, Great-Grandchildren: Ethan Holland and Bella Holland.

Funeral services will be held on Monday January 30, 2017 at 3:00pm from the Tickanetley Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Paul Mooney and Elder Ed Vickers officiating. Interment will follow in the Tickanetley Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday January 29, 2017 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at the funeral home.
