Mrs. Alene Lucille Holt Fitzwater: Obituary

Mrs. Alene Lucille Holt Fitzwater, age 65 of Jasper, GA passed on Saturday morning, February 18th, 2017 at the Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.

Mrs. Fitzwater was born June 18th, 1951 in Ellijay, GA to her late parents Eugene Frederick and Lucille Cain Holt. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and graduated from Gilmer High School, Class of 1969. Alene worked as a bank teller for Citizens Bank of Gainsville, First State Bank in Ellijay, Alltel in Dalton, and Kroger Foods in Jasper, GA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wayne Fitzwater.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Jesse Cornelius of Jasper, GA; son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Cindy Underwood of Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Drew (Sabrina) Herrington, Sarah Herrington, Anna Greer, Samuel Underwood and Mary Ann Underwood; great grandchildren, Alivia Herrington, Ethan Herrington, Morgan Herrington, Aubree Herrington, Adalyn Herrington; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gwendolyn and Lloyd McArthur of Ellijay, GA and Rentha and Steve Davis of Jasper, GA; Several nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Monday, February 20th, 2017 from the Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Burt, Rev. Billy Dotson and Rev. Allan Cain officiating. Music and vocals will be by John and Danny Jarrard and the Ebenezer Baptist Church Choir. Graveside interment will follow in the Clear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Ransom McArthur, Travis McArthur, Drew Herrington, Samuel Underwood, Mark Fortner, Allan Cain, Lamar Underwood and Wallace Anderson serving as pallbearers.

Family will receive friends from 2pm until 7pm on Sunday, February 19th, 2017 at the Logan Funeral Home.
