Mr. Joshua Thomas “Tom” Wilson, III : Obituary

Mr. Joshua Thomas “Tom” Wilson, III, age 61, of Ellijay, died Thursday, February 23, 2017.

Mr. Thomas was born, July 28, 1955, in Homestead, FL, the son of Joshua Thomas Wilson, Jr. and Anne Powell Wilson. He graduated College with a Bachelor’s degree in Music and pursued it most of his life. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include: Parents: Joshua Wilson, Jr. Knoxville, TN, Anne Wilson, Ellijay, sister and brother-in-law: Beth and Rev. Doug Simonds, Ellijay, nieces and nephew, Krista and Matthew Newton, Talking Rock, Jena Simonds, Atlanta, great-nephews, Micha, Jonah and Noah Newton, uncles and aunts, Harry and Joyce Powell, CA, Jim and Georgia Powell, Atlanta and family friend, Donna Vaughn, Houston, TX.

Memorial services will be held Monday, March 6, 2017 at 11:00 am from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Rosser officiating. Music will be by Rev. Matthew Newton, Rev. Doug Simonds, and Mr. Josh Wilson, Jr. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Music Ministry of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church or the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Library, 115 Pleasant Grove Rd. Ellijay, GA. 30540 in memory of Mr. Wilson.

The family will meet with friends Monday, March 6 from 9:30 am until the service hour of 11:00 at the church.
