Mrs. Barbara Jayne Hoener Johndrow: Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Jayne Hoener Johndrow, age 87 of Ellijay, GA, formerly of Overland Park, KS, passed Thursday morning, July 13, 2017 at the Gilmer Nursing Home.

Mrs. Johndrow was born October 17th, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri to her late parents Edward and Wilma Irene Hoener.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Steve’s Shoes, and enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, to whom she was known as “Baba Gum”.  Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Lester Johndrow.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Rita Johndrow of Buford, GA and Jim and Genie Johndrow of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren and in-laws, Erin and Kyle Starck, Ashley and Tom Czarnowski, Lindsey and Marc Cheatum, Carter Johndrow, Richard and Jill Shutts, and Jason Shutts; great grandchildren, Dylann Starck, Charlie Kate Starck, Taylor Czarnowski, Wyatt Czarnowski, Luke Cheatum, Emma Cheatum, Noah Cheatum, Ambria Shutts, Ryland Shutts, and Victoria Shutts.

A private graveside interment service will be held at a later date in the Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Overland Park, KS.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 200 W. Emery Street, Suite #3, Dalton, GA 30720 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675 in memory of Mrs. Johndrow.
