Mrs. Deborah “Deb” Jean DeFoor Dotson: Obituary

Mrs. Deborah “Deb” Jean DeFoor Dotson, age 60 of the Tails Creek community, Ellijay, GA passed Tuesday evening, August 22nd, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Dotson was born May 26th, 1957 in Ellijay, Ga. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Deb had retired from Regal Rugs (Springs Carpet) and then went to work for Gilmer Printing. Deb is preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Sanford DeFoor.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, James “Jim” Dotson of the home in Ellijay, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Brandie and Bryan Thomas of Blue Ridge, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Jamie and Cindy Dotson of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren, Abby Dotson, Anna Dotson, Dalton Thomas, Sadie Thomas, and Owen Thomas; father, Cecil E. DeFoor of Ellijay, GA also survives.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Friday, August 25, 2017 from the Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Kerr, Rev. Billy Dotson, Rev. Scott Watkins officiating. Music and vocals will be by Rev. Jamie Dotson and the Crossroads Baptist Church Choir. Graveside interment will follow in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery with Brent Dotson, Burt Dotson, Brandon Kerr, Smitty Dotson, Austin Padgett, Rev. Jamie Kerr, Ricky Dotson, Brent DeFoor and Wilburn DeFoor serving as pallbearers.

Family will receive friends from 4pm until 9pm on Thursday, August 24th, 2017 at the Logan Funeral Home.
