Melissa Lynn Brown: Obituary

Melissa Lynn Brown, age 42, of Ellijay, GA, died Friday, September 8, 2017.

She was born in Cherokee County, NC to James “Pete” Brown and Ann Stewart. A member of Grace Tabernacle Church, she was preceded in death by her sister Jennifer Gatewood.

Survivors include fiancé, Michael Kendrick of Ellijay; mother, Ann Stewart of Andrews, NC; father & step-mother, Pete & Carol Brown of Newnan; sons & daughters-in-law, Cody & Cortney Kephart and Cameron & Crystal Kephart all of Ellijay, Chase & Taylor Kephart of El Paso, TX, stepchildren, Rylie Kendrick, Leeland Kendrick and Wesson Kendrick all of Ellijay; brothers, Jamie Brown of Ellijay and Cody Gatewood of Newnan; sister, Amy Ozment of Newnan; grandchildren, Noah Coots, Brynnlee Kephart, Liam Kephart and Kyndel Kephart all of Ellijay. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2:00pm from the Bernhardt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Millsaps and Dawn Decker officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 12:00 noon until 2:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Missy Brown Memorial Fund at P.O. Box 466 Ellijay, GA 30540.
