Murphy Bulldogs Defeat the Gilmer Bobcats 48-0

The Gilmer Bobcats traveled to Murphy N.C. to face the Bulldogs on Friday Night, the bulldogs dominated both sides of the ball all night long giving the Bobcats their fourth loss of the season. Bulldogs Rb #34 K. Mcrae rushed for over 60 yards and had 4 touchdowns in Friday nights match-up. The bobcats defense struggled to stop the run which gave up big yardage on the ground and had a rough time putting pressure on the QB. The bobcats ended up going 3 and out several times during the game which resulted in punts. Quarterback D. Smith (Gilmer) tried scrabbling around to gain yardage but was met in the backfield by the Bulldogs defense and unfortunately smith fumbled the ball which resulted in another bulldog touchdown. The Bulldogs went into halftime leading 48-0 and that’s where the score stayed the rest of the night. Bobcats defense held the bulldogs and kept them from scoring the 3rd and 4th qtr. This loss has put the Bobcats record of 4-0 this season so far. The Bobcats will host the Heritage Generals next Friday Night at Huff Mosely Stadium in Ellijay, kickoff is set for 7:30.
