Mrs. Bernice Farist Garrett, age 92, of Ellijay, died Saturday, October 28, 2017.
Mrs. Garrett was born December 21, 1924 in Gilmer County, the daughter of the late Emory and Maude Waddell Farist. She worked in retail sales, having worked for Park’s Dress Shop and later Jeri’s Dress Shoppe for many years. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.
Her parents, husband; J.M. Garrett, daughter; Linda Garrett, sisters; Gertrude Reece, Eunice Davenport, brothers; Milford Farist and James Farist preceded her in death.
Survivors: include special nephew and niece, Rev. Euel and Virgie Reece, Ellijay, along with several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Euel Reece officiating. Interment will be in the Ellijay City Cemetery.
The family will meet with friends Monday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
