Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Wells Gudger, age 87,of Ellijay, died Friday November 17, 2017.
Mrs. Gudger was born January 3, 1930 in Gilmer County the daughter of the late Ruel and Essie Sales Wells. She was a graduate of Gilmer High School, worked for the Federal Government in finance and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Her parents and husband of 54 years, William ”Bill” Gudger preceded her in death.
Survivors include: daughter; Karen Gudger, Canton, brother; Ray Wells, Ellijay, sisters; Lois Dover, Helen Winslett and Shirley Edmondson all of Ellijay, Christen Johnson, Norcross and Peggy Ridgewell, Woodstock, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 2:00pm from the First United Methodist Church, with Dr. Thom Shores and Rev. Allan Tarr officiating. Interment will be in the Mountaintown Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will meet with friends Saturday from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Gilmer Food Pantry or Nine Mile United Methodist Church cemetery fund, in memory of Mrs. Gudger.
