Explosion at East Ellijay McDonald’s

EAST ELLIJAY, GA. – Reports indicate an explosion has occurred at the East Ellijay McDonald’s around 2 p.m. today originating in the women’s bathroom.

Authorities on scene say the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) has been contacted by East Ellijay Police. However, preliminary investigations suggest that a device may have been involved. As of now, the East Ellijay Police Department is still investigating the incident including reviewing security footage.

Although there are no current suspects, the McDonald’s is already re-opened and continuing business as normal as the investigation continues.
