ELLIJAY, Ga. – Gilmer County citizens have grown accustomed to seeing accidents at the junction made up from Highway 515, Highway 52, Industrial Boulevard, and First Avenue.
Another accident occurred today, shutting down 515 in the area as authorities process the accident. Two cars were involved in the incident, but one occupant was transported for injuries.
According to East Ellijay Police Chief Larry Callihan, Highway 515 was closed for approximately 30 minutes before officials were able to reopen.
Authorities currently believe that a vehicle ran the red light at the intersection and collided with another vehicle.
