Hubert C. Richards: Obituary

Mr. Hubert C. Richards, age 72, of Ellijay died Tuesday March 20, 2018.

Mr. Richards was April 15, 1945, in Gilmer County the son of the late Frank and Myrtle Ellis Richards. He was a graduate of Gilmer High School Class of 1963, a veteran serving with the U.S. Army, retired from Georgia DOT, where he worked in enforcement, and was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by parents and brother; Wesley Richards.

Survivors include; wife: Izell West Richards, sons and daughter-in-law; Jeremy Richards, Barnesville, Jason and Sonya Richards, Ellijay, grandchildren Della and Hezekiah, brothers and sisters-in-law: Leslie and Joyce Richards, Rev Paul and Linda Richards all of Ellijay, sister and brother-in-law’s; Frances and Clarence Mulkey, Ellijay, Alva and Ralph Cobb, Decatur, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 4:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Richards and Rev. Eugene Davis officiating. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Baptist Church cemetery.

The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church cemetery fund or Gilmer Animal Shelter in memory of Mr. Richards.

Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
