Brenda Dianne George: Obituary

Ms. Brenda Dianne George, age 70 of Ellijay, died Saturday June 16, 2018.

Dianne was born February 13, 1948, in Atlanta the daughter of the late, Clarence Wade and Edna Bryant Portwood. She last worked for Cossawattee River Resort in the recreation center, where she loved visiting with each and every person. She was a member of the Oak Hill Independent Church in Ellijay.

Family and friends were her passion and delight. Dianne will be remembered by her caring heart and a beautiful smile that she shared with everyone. Her parents and sister; Linda Smith preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children; : Wayne and Lori Goodwin, Dawsonville, Stacy and Ralph Matthews, Dawsonville, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren brothers and sisters-in-law; ; Jerry and Jackie Portwood, Douglasville, David and Shirley Portwood, Dallas, Ricky and Mary Nell Portwood, Ellijay, and special friend Mary Proulx, who loved and cared for Dianne unselfishly to the end.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00am from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral home with Rev. James Holloway officiating. Interment will be in the Yukon cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.
